The Advancement Trail
Cub Scouts progress from rank to rank, learning new skills as they go. Each of the ranks and awards in Cub Scouting has its own requirements. As Cub Scouts get older and advance through the ranks, the requirements become more challenging to match their new skills and abilities.
Each den is a group of six to eight kids, within the pack, that meets several one or more times each month between pack meetings. The kids in a den are usually all at the same grade level. The den structure allows kids to build relationships with leaders and other kids. The den provides opportunities for activities that would be difficult with a large group. The den also provides leadership opportunities for the kids.
